Get ready, Pobble schools!

The first EVER day devoted to creative writing is coming up on Wednesday 21st June.

How will your young writers join in?

Creative writing charity First Story and its partners want to encourage the whole country to have fun with words, and feel the power and the joy of creative writing. Something Pobble schools know all about.

Like us, you know just how important it is for children to get excited about writing. We want your children, as young writers, to feel part of something very special on 21st June. A day that people across the UK are taking part in, because writing is fun, and nothing beats the feeling of finding the words to say what you want to say.

The National Writing Day Primary Resource Pack has ideas for early years to KS2, drawing on resources from the National Literacy Trust, Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, The Poetry School and others. You could get your students:

• Making their own treasure chest

• Telling the story of their name

• Exploring the power of pictures

• Composing a poem to say in one breath

Or just plan to have extra fun with your class’s writing work on 21st June.

However you and your students get involved on National Writing Day, we would love to see what you come up with!

Share pictures of your students’ writing with @HeyPobble and @WriteDay on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook using the tags #TellYourStory and #NationalWritingDay.
