What is Literacy Fit?

Literacy Fit is a Leeds-based 5-day active writing challenge during this February half-term. Each day, new physical and writing skills and techniques will be taught and and put into practise through an activity and a daily competition. Keep your child active and energised during the holiday period with exciting physical challenges and writing activities that go beyond classroom work.

A focus on literacy…

Participating children will write in a different genre each day related to sporting heroes, why physical activity is good for the mind and body, health topics and nutrition.

Our writing will go beyond the classroom – every piece of writing will be published on Pobble so our authors get a global audience for their work!

…with lots of activity!

Physical activities will include: climbing (bouldering) and ropes, handstands and walking handstands, upper body strength (rig challenges), squats, speed/endurance, agility/flexibility/mobility, team work, general fitness and healthy habits.

Who is Literacy Fit for?

This is a great half-term programme for Leeds-area children aged 8-11 who want to stay active over the school holidays, and unleash their creativity at the same time.

Literacy Fit is taught by our own Mrs Louise Robinson, a qualified primary school Pobble teacher, literacy coordinator and P.E. specialist with experience coaching at CrossFit Regain in Leeds.
