Genre ticklists

Is there a more effective and powerful way of assessing a child’s work than having them assess it themselves?

We at Pobble don’t think so.

It’s empowering and inspiring stuff when individuals in your class can celebrate their achievements in writing and quote their target for improvement, having assessed their own work either independently or with a peer-partner.

At Pobble we believe in children taking responsibility and pride in their learning.  Thus, we have created editable, word formatted, genre tick-lists across a range of the most popular writing genres. These checklists can also be used to encourage children to incorporate the different features of particular genres in their writing.

Already, these have proved highly successful and motivating for children in many of our Pobble Schools. Why not use them with your pupils and see the impact they can have on self-assessment and progress in your class?
